Bioelectricity Generation and Decolorization of Reactive Blue 221 Using a Modified Cathode Dual-Chamber Microbial Fuel Cell

In this study, the simultaneous enzymatic decolorization of reactive blue 221 (RB221) and performance different electrode carbon nanotube (CNT)-modified/unmodified graphite cathodes were investigated in a dual-chamber Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) at permanent temperature 25 °C. The maximum power density voltage increased by approximately 13.6% 50%, respectively, when using CNT-modified as cathode. A suspended laccase enzyme was utilized cathode compartment for dye decolorization. absence dye, caused an increase to about 28%. addition, research revealed that initial concentration 80 mg/L simultaneously resulted efficiency 73.4% chamber 82.3% chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal sucrose anode chamber.
